CIBPA
Ottawa Scholarship Awards Program

This scholarship program is to assist post-secondary students from the Ottawa area who are from Italian-Canadian descent and who have achieved academic merit and outstanding community involvement.
Click here to learn more about the 2010 program.
An awards ceremony is held annually in November and the theme
is "Castagne Night," typical of the fall harvest season in
Italy. The evening features a traditional Italian dinner and
roasted chestnuts followed by a guest speaker and the presentation
of the awards to the students. Click here to see photos
of previous awards events.
CIPBA Ottawa has initiated a capital fundraising campaign to raise $100,000 over four years (2006 to 2010) for the program. The funds will be invested to generate yearly scholarships for the Italian-Canadian students.

CIBPA Ottawa is proud to host its first membership dinner meeting of the New Year on February 16th, 2010 at the Tudor Inn Banquet Hall located at 3750 North Bowesville Road. The evening's guest speakers will be representatives from the Social Services Committee of The Unione Italiani nel Mondo (UIM). The Committee came together to analyze the social and wellness needs of the Italian Community in the Ottawa area. Maddalena Iannitti, Director of ITAL-UIL (Institute of Social Services for workers of Italian origin) and Vice President of UIM, will provide a brief description of UIM’s mandate and how the organization came to receive some funds from New Horizons for Seniors Program. Ariella Hostetter, Fundraiser / volunteer, and Clara Panarella , Psychotherapist, will present the findings of their survey; and Carla Lappa, Career Consultant, will outline a program to be offered to the Italian Canadian community on career planning and development. Come learn how their research can help advance the wellness of the members of our Italian community members and how some of their future research can help us advance CIBPA's mandate and new goals set for 2010. You will not want to miss this evening. If you have not already done so, please reserve your spot immediately. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday February 16th, 2010 at 6:00pm.
